Explore NB brought East Coast nature to downtown Toronto in partnership with Maestro Chef Wes

The Explore New Brunswick immersive experience offered a unique opportunity to discover the allure of New Brunswick in Toronto.

Explore NB presented Naturescape, a sensational immersive experience held at the historic Design Exchange in Toronto. A media preview was held on the evening of March 14 followed by a public event on Saturday, March 16 from 11am-7pm.

Attendees were transported to the East Coast of Canada with this free-to-the-public event spanning three floors, featuring the sights, sounds and flavours of New Brunswick, with a special preview of Maestro Chef Wes season two – filmed entirely in New Brunswick.

“Step away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto, and step into the tranquility of a New Brunswick escape,” said Katie Kohler, Director of Strategic Marketing, Explore New Brunswick. “From the vibrant culture and rich landscapes to the culinary delights, Naturescape promises the very best of what New Brunswick has to offer, inviting all to explore and be inspired for summer adventures.”

Visitors entered Naturescape through the transformed lobby of the Design Exchange where they began their journey through New Brunswick. On this main level, guests could test their fly-fishing skills, check out a 360 camera experience with a New Brunswick backdrop and be wowed by the latte art of Fredericton’s own Barista Brian.

The second floor showcased an immersive video projection experience where visitors were surrounded by the beautiful scenery of New Brunswick's coastlines, waterways, forests and warm saltwater beaches. The room was a collaboration between some of the province’s most creative minds; from the video production for the immersive experience, to the work by Acre Architects bringing the lookout to life.

Music played from Indigenous, Acadian and Cuban-Canadian artists, and some of the province’s most iconic foods circulation including mini lobster rolls, oysters, McCain french fries and maple taffy on the snow.

The event capped of with a preview episode from season two of hip-hop artist Maestro Fresh Wes' cooking show, Maestro Chef Wes filmed entirely in New Brunswick.
